Advanced Safeguarding Children and Young People Level 2 Home Based (adv-safe-home)

Description
This course is suitable for all those who work with children and young people in early years, ensuring that they have a thorough knowledge of child protection and safeguarding. This course will strengthen the knowledge gained from the Level 1 Introduction to Safeguarding course.

Keeping children and young people safe should be a priority for everyone in Early Years. In order to do this effectively all staff must understand their role in safeguarding children and young people from harm and should be confident and competent in doing so.

The Keeping Children Safe in Education (2019) states that settings must train all staff to understand their safeguarding policy and procedures, and ensure that all staff have up to date knowledge of safeguarding issues to ensure children are safeguarded from harm. This course provides relevant information, including what happens after a referral to social care has been made.

It provides a reminder of ways in which early years workers can identify abuse or potential abuse and how they should report and follow up concerns. This course helps the early years worker to understand more about safeguarding processes and procedures and what happens after a referral to social care has been made.
